BET’s The New Edition Story told the story of the group, divided into three entertaining parts if you haven’t had a chance to watch. A prominent R&B group growing up in the 80s, it certainly took me back. Still hard to believe the Bobby Brown haircut was a mistake turned into a trend. Overall entertaining to say the least, and The New Edition Story Soundtrack is a keeper.
Spotify had the official playlist for the New Edition Story soundtrack, but I created one inspired by the movie with those I was more familiar and what I’d group as their best. Their music on Spotify spiked a good 600+% plays after the movie, go figure. I was never familiar with the Johnny Gill-led song, Boys to Men, the song title that spurred the group discovered by Michael Bivins.
